How do you replace EZ Stick Build Sheets?

It’s pretty easy to remove the sheets once they are worn out and only takes a few minutes. We use a high strength polymer film base so it comes off cleanly in one piece. The adhesive is meant to be strong so it takes a little force to peel it up but if you go slow and carefully it’s not difficult.

How easy is it to install EZ Stick Surfaces?

Super easy! At least we think so. The sheets easily cut to size with scissors and are made from thick polymer film to help prevent bubbles from forming. Anyone can do it if you take you time and be careful.

What setting to you I use with EZ Stick?

The setting for EZ Stick are very similar to what is used for GeckoTek Build Sheets. The exact settings vary based on the 3D Printer and filament. Set the extruder according to the filament manufacturer’s recommended temperature. We find the following to be the best bed temperatures to use with EZ Stick Hot. ABS: 100-110C, PLA: 50-60C, PETG: 80-100C, Nylon: 30-50C

How long does EZ Stick last?

Each sheet, if used properly, will last over 100 prints without losing adhesion. It depends on the printer, filament and what parts you print. The adhesion will slowly reduce over many prints so it’s up to you how often you want to replace it. Many customers have reported over 300 prints with GeckoTek Build Plates.

Will EZ Stick work with Auto Leveling?

EZ Stick works great with most types of auto leveling. Here are the different types of sensors that work.

Inductive proximity sensors: This is the type of probe used by Printrbot and others and it work great with EZ Stick. An induction sensor will not detect EZ Stick directly because they are non-conductive but will sense the stock conductive surface beneath it. Once you apply the EZ Stick surface either add 0.45mm to the z-offset or go through the sensor calibration process again.

Physical Touch sensors: EZ Stick surfaces work great with touch sensors that sense using some type of limit switch. Even those that use the nozzle while it is heated work great. We have tested this with nozzle heated up to 200C and it can come into repeated direct contact with the print surface without damaging it.

Ultimaker 3 Active Leveling System (Capacitive Sensing): After doing a little research, the Ultimaker 3 Active Leveling should work great with EZ Stick. This gives a great explanation of how it works. https://ultimaker.com/en/community/23463-inside-the-ultimaker-3-day-6-active-leveling

They use capacitive sensing between the nozzle and the aluminum heater plate in the bed. That relies on the glass surface being non-conductive. EZ Stick is also non conductive so it should be a perfect fit with the Ultimaker 3 Active Leveling system.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
